Magic Bins is licensed to transport and dispose of asbestos, but it must be pre-arranged and in a separate lined bin. We have a range of asbestos skip bins from 2mᶾ, 3mᶾ, 4mᶾ, 6mᶾ and 8mᶾ which are delivered in double-lined, heavy-duty plastic.
The asbestos should be sealed in double-lined, heavy-duty plastic sheeting or double bagged before it is placed into the skip. The asbestos skip bins are ASBESTOS ONLY. You cannot mix with any other general waste. (Only asbestos or anything contaminated by the asbestos.) Our skip bins must be level to the rim as we cannot transport overloaded bins. We can also provide you with a Waste Transport Certificate if required after collection.
“Most Aussies wrongly believe that deaths caused from asbestos are a thing of the past, but they couldn’t be more wrong! Deadly asbestos lies hidden in one third of Aussie homes. It can be in any brick, weatherboard, fibro or clad home built or renovated before 1987. It was used everywhere - lurking under floor coverings including carpets, linoleum and vinyl tiles, behind wall and floor tiles, in cement floors, internal and external walls, ceilings and ceiling space (insulation), eaves, garages, roofs, around hot water pipes, fences, home extensions, garages, outdoor toilets, backyard and farm structures, chook sheds and even dog kennels.” — (extract from asbestosawareness.com.au)
If you think you might have asbestos, consult an expert prior to handling or placing it into the skip bin. More information is provided below.
